What app to use while you're in Phnom Penh?


Now everyone can benefit from some of the local and global apps now available here in the Kingdom.

StreetFoodies
This upcoming app aims to provide a comprehensive roster of Phnom Penh's street food stalls. Users can pin their new culinary discoveries on the map and share it with fellow foodies. Searches are also planned to be possible. This app was the 2014 app winner of the Startup Weekend "hackathon". Other plans are to create a food tour program and make tour bookings can be made through the app and enable everyone to share their Cambodian food experiences. Due to launch early 2015.

Cambus
A new mobile app to enter the market but the whole domestic travel industry is seeing a widespread improvement in transportation choice and professionalism. Bus routes are still the primary way of exploring Cambodia and this app enables you to select routes, times and prices from the comfort of your phone.

Chatomuk Traffic
If you are living or visiting Phnom Penh, you will notice the traffic situation is getting worse on congested streets and unnecessarily large cars. The Chatomuk Traffic app is till working its way through niggle but hopes to provide real-time traffic jam information for Phnom Penh city!

Cambodia Language Guide&Audio
This app created by World Nomads can help you in a sticky language situation, which is bound to happen if you don't have any Khmer in your vocab. With a directory of phrases in Khmer, you can attempt the local language and the Audio is on hand to assist your pronunciation when attempting to negotiate tuk tuk fees and finding your hotel!
